Project 3D
The Project 3D project was created in order to help our Client see a prototype of a Ring Display Case for their State Championship Rings. The case would be a 14"x4" case printed using the 3D Printer. Inside the Case would be a resting spot for each ring to rest on. The case was enclosed in order to protect the rings from any outside harm. After several attempts in printing, the final case was finished and presented to our Client who kept the prototype as their ring case. This project ended up prompting a second project which would work towards printing off and replacing a wheel for the school's recycling bins.

Book Blessings box
The Book Blessings project started from an idea that sprouted from seeing kids not being able to advance their reading during the summer. Our group consists of 6 people. Those people are Hannah Smith, Cassi Harless, Angelica Flores, Laney Matyja, Reagan Sutterfield, and Shelby Osborne. We thought that we could help disadvantaged children during the summer, who do not have transportation to libraries. Our idea was to make this “Book Blessing Library” like a food cabinet. Where people come and take what they need. But for this library, it will have the rules of take a book and leave a book. For our design, we decided to reuse abandoned newspaper containers. We called around and finally found a restaurant, Wagon Wheel in Greenbrier, that had old newspaper containers that we could have. After going and picking them up, with the help of the Agri Students who cut off the locks, we started cleaning them up and painting them. Some of the paint came from the EAST supply closet and the paint that we did not have came from the art teacher. After the paint job is done, our group will start calling around to find 5 places where we can set these boxes at. We plan on setting these boxes in places where a lot of people go. For example: baseball fields, Churches, and grocery stores. Our goal is to help children keep advancing their reading skills, even when school is out.

Going solar
The Going Solar project is about helping the school save money on their energy bill and helping where we will have more funds for extra activities. The outcome of the project will depend on what the district comes up with in April. Some challenges we have faced are communicating with others, and them responding to us, not knowing something. The problem we are solving is cutting down the electricity bill for the district. The technology that we have learned to use is the app called Sketch up, The clients are the school board, teachers, and administratives, The community partners that we have are the solar companies. What made us want to start this project is seeing how much we will cut down on the electricity bill seeing how much we could do with the money, for example more activities or going into our athletic programs etc.

Community Center
The Community Center/Pond project was created to have a place in town for all ages in the community to use. This site would include a building with 3 basketball courts, a track, meeting rooms, an event center room, and changing rooms. Along with the building the site will have a fishing pond, pavilions with grills and picnic tables, outside walking trail, outdoor movie theater, etc.We designed a sketchup model that includes all the different phases of the project. We worked with Nabholz construction to utilize their equipment and expertise on building and the layout of the location. We also worked with Arkansas Game and Fish to create habitats for the animals in the pond and wildlife.

Quilt Trail
The Quilt Trail project was created to pay tribute to all the veterans who sacrificed their lives for our country. Quilt Trails are quilt patterns painted onto a wooden surface hung to recognize local and regional history by providing a story with each quilt. Our Quilt square will be mounted onto the wall of the Vilonia Verterans Museum to honor the veterans in our community. By creating this memorial, Vilonia will be placed on the official Quit Trail map and bring more traffic to our City and our Verterans Museum.

Track Hall of Fame
The Arkansas Track and Field Association asked our program if we could assist in interviewing the 2019 Hall of Fame inductees. The documentary depicted their stories and gratitude towards their time in track and field. We met with inductees to interview and gather information. Inductees who could not meet us, were interviewed by their local IT department, TV or Radio stations. We used iMovie to edit the videos recorded by a DSLR camera, lighting effects, audio recorder, and drone footage. We were invited to the inductee ceremony to set up and present the documentaries when the inductees were announced.

Cemetery Project
We partnered with North Little Rock EAST to create a map including information about all of the graves from the Vilonia Cemetery. The VHS Cemetery Project started out as finishing an ongoing project of digitizing the plot owner and tombstone map of Vilonia Cemetery. However, after talking to the owner of the cemetery, Joe Coker he informed us that the plot owners wouldn’t be much help. So, now we are focused on just digitizing a headstone map of the cemetery. The purpose of the Cemetery Project is to update the headstone map of Vilonia Cemetery that people could access in order to see who’s buried where.
QR Passes
Teachers needed a digital way to come up with who came in and out of the classrooms. They needed it digital to be able to send it to the office at any time without difficulty because in the past teachers had to keep a hand record of the hall pass or a million little orange passes on paper. Each teacher got an individualized QR code to place by their door for the bathroom for students to scan. There is also a separate QR code that has multiple options including things like office, nurse, or hall pass. At the beginning of the year teachers also used it for student covid self-checks instead of the teachers having to check the students and as a way of checking attendance.

Veterans History Audio Recording
The veterans history audio recording project was created to aid people who cannot read the signs when they go to the museum, so when people who cannot read come in and want to enjoy the museum they still can! To make this project come to life we have typed various scripts that consist of vital information related to the history of America, and we are recording our voices reading these scripts which we then put the recording on to a box that when you press the button located on the box it will read to you the history related to the specific exhibit you are in. These boxes are not just for aiding people who cannot read, it is important because these boxes will be around for years to come; helping preserve the history that has made us the country we are today. Using the re-recording boxes helped us understand a different type of technology we had never worked with before. Our community partners in this project are the Vilonia Veterans Museum and Linda Hicks.

Reality Check
Reality Check was an all-day budgeting simulation hosted for all students in grades 9-12. Students, especially seniors, didn’t have any type of financial knowledge so this event helped them grasp the concept of salaries, paying bills, wants versus needs, etc. We used SketchUp, virtual forms, and PhotoShop. With the help of other EAST students we created budgeting sheets and accurate pricing for booths that the students visited. Members from the community and EAST students volunteered at the booths on the day of the event. Overall, students really enjoyed and gained financial knowledge from the event.

Color Cycle
The main goal of the project is to make the school more environmentally friendly by recycling markers that have dried out or are not usable for some reason. We printed posters, placed them on the boxes, then placed them all over the campuses. We then learned how to use photoshop and created a basic advertisement. This advertisement is directed towards teachers, staff, and students. Schools go through tons of markers that end up in landfills. This is what this whole project is about, keeping markers out of our landfills and making the school recycle more.

Buddy Bench
We decided to do the Buddy Bench project in order to help younger kids find friends. The Buddy Bench is a place for children to sit when they are lonely. It provides a place for them to sit during recess and other students will come up to them and invite them to play. We are working with the Vilonia Elementary school principal to create this project. We are working with the high school agriculture teachers to help us build the bench. We are meeting with the PTVO's about the bench to get funding for them. We believe this will unite the students of the school and give the students the chance to act.

Hammock Garden
The Vilonia EAST program created the Hammock Garden for our community in order to make a place where anyone and everyone can hang out. In this area, students and the Vilonia community can come to relax in their enos, provided by the Faulkner County Library. The hammock garden was created to help solve the problem of limited hang out spots in our town.

Sports Complex/Season Passes
We were asked by our Athletic Department and coaches to create digital footage showcasing our sports complexes on campus for attendees. This helps outside guests know where to go for each sporting event and what type of facilities we have before arriving. We utilized the drone to take footage of each complex and edited the footage in iMovie to have labeled information. We worked with all the principals to gain access to these facilities, as well as the Technology Director to showcase the footage on the School districts website. We created a video to help publicize the Vilonia Athletic Season passes for the 2019-2020 year. People didn’t know about the passes, where they could purchase them or how much they cost. We filmed the video with a drone, and edited parts of the video and audio together. This helps new families in Vilonia to help them save money while attending athletic events. Our community partners included the Athletic Director Nick Newman and Stacy Simpson to gather information. We utilized local Unmanned Aircraft Pilots to help with flying the drone.

Project 3D
Our EAST program partnered with UCA and our high schools Special Education Department to design and print 3D models of historic buildings in Conway. We first started out by meeting with the SPED students to see which building we wanted to design. While the SPED students researched the building we chose, the EAST students started designing on TinkerCad what the building should look like using blueprints and photos online. The SPED students also helped with the designing when we had our meetings. Once we finished the design we printed a test print and then worked with UCAs STEM lab to print in a larger format to donate to the Historical Society.

Facilitator Directory
EAST utilizes collaboration between programs so, we created a facilitator directory. This is a map using ArcGis that has all EAST facilitators represented by points at the location of their school. We sent out a virtual form that had their contact information, social media handles, etc. to be used for collaboration purposes and all of that information is listed on the point. This project will significantly benefit all EAST schools as well as the EAST headquarters.

Nature Trail/Hammock Garden
The Nature Trail and Hammock Garden Project is about revitalizing the nature trail and creating a Hammock Garden. We created a map of the trail using ArcGIS and we created a SketchUp design of the Hammock Garden. We received a grant from Arkansas Game and Fish to complete the project. The weather has been a complication, but with the help of members from the community we are in the final phase of the revitalization.
